Propel: Media Database or PR Management Software? Both.
This is a very interesting development in the media database category – although Israel-based Propel claims that they have created a new product category that does for PR what Marketo and Hubspot did for content marketing. Propel calls this category PRM – Public Relations Management software; software that improves their workflow, results and also has features that meet the requirements of GDPR.
For the moment, this will be added to PR Toolfinder’s media database category and media suite categories. We’ve been considering adding a PR Management category for a while now because there are other software products that would also fall under the PRM category which is really approaching media relations like a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system, organizing your media contacts by relationship and looking at the quality of those relationships across your agency or team.
That said, Propel is an all in one PR Software like established heavyweights Cision and Meltwater. Propel launched as a CRM for PR with Gmail and Outlook integrations. The company has since released a media database, monitoring, GDPR features, and business impact measurement. Propel PRM is one of the first PR software to unify the entire PR workflow and integrate it with Gmail and Outlook.
The company says its media database has more than 1.5 million journalists and influencers globally, and a repository of billions of articles to help users discover new journalists. So if you’ve been wanting to eliminate your spreadsheets and centralize all of the notes, past engagement, and previous coverage for each contact and campaign check out the new Propel platform and then let us know what you think by leaving a review!
