PRToolFinder Was Built by a PR Professional—For People Navigating PR Technology
Hi, I’m Gina Milani, founder of PRToolFinder.
I’ve spent my career helping organizations communicate more effectively and make smart decisions about where to invest their marketing resources. Along the way, I’ve watched public relations evolve from a profession built largely around relationships and traditional media into one increasingly powered by technology.
I started my career on the agency side, later joined a high-tech startup, and eventually founded my own communications agency focused on enterprise software and enabling technologies. Over the years, my team and I had the opportunity to work with technology companies and analyst firms in the United States and internationally.
One lesson stayed with me throughout my career: the right technology can make a tremendous difference—but finding the right technology isn’t always easy.
From a Simple Idea to a Bigger Vision
PRToolFinder began with a straightforward question: Why is it so difficult to find and evaluate the technology available to PR professionals?
In the early days, the landscape was dominated by a few major players who provided PR pros and publicists with digital media contact information, editorial calendars, and tracking capabilities.
As more specialized tools entered the market reflecting change in the industry, the challenge became even greater. PR professionals were often spending valuable time searching across the web, visiting vendor websites, and trying to compare solutions that were described, priced, and categorized in entirely different ways.
I knew there had to be a better way.
PRToolFinder was created to bring the PR technology landscape together in one place and make it easier for people to discover, understand, and evaluate the tools available to them.
As the platform has grown, so has the vision.
Today, PRToolFinder is evolving beyond technology discovery to become a trusted guide to the broader PR technology ecosystem—bringing together tools, education, community, and access to experienced PR consultants.
A Platform Built on Trust
One of the principles that matters most to me is simple:
Discovery is not for sale.
PRToolFinder is building a sustainable business that includes memberships, advertising, and other opportunities for technology vendors to connect with potential customers.
Every relevant tool should have the opportunity to be discovered—whether it is an established company, an emerging startup, a free tool, or an open-source solution. Therefore, there is no cost to tool vendors for a listing, and many appear under multiple categories so you can find them easily by function.
Vendors can choose to invest in additional advertising and promotional opportunities, but paid relationships will always be transparent and distinct from the platform’s standard discovery experience.
Because especially in our business, trust is more valuable than any individual transaction.
Looking Ahead
The PR technology landscape is changing faster than ever. Artificial intelligence is accelerating innovation, new companies are entering the market, and the choices available to communications professionals continue to expand.
I believe that makes PRToolFinder’s mission more important—not less.
Our goal is to continue making it easier to navigate this changing landscape by combining structured discovery and meaningful categorization with education, community, and, over time, AI-enhanced functionality that make comparison and decision-making even more useful.
But technology will never be the whole story.
PR is still about people, ideas, relationships, and judgment.
PRToolFinder is still growing, with many opportunities ahead. The platform will continue to evolve alongside the PR industry, the professionals who shape it, and the technology that supports it. I hope you’ll explore the site, share your ideas, participate in the community, and help shape what comes next.
