About the Community Forum
What Is the PRToolFinder Community?
Think of it as the human side of PRToolFinder.
The PRToolFinder database helps you discover the PR technology that’s available. The Community gives you a place to talk about how those tools, and the work surrounding them, actually fit into the world we work and live in.
- Maybe you're trying to decide between two media databases.
- Maybe you've found a great solution to a PR problem and want to get another perspective.
- Maybe you have a problem and you're looking for solutions and ideas.
- Or maybe you simply have a PR Tech question that Google and AI just aren't answering very well.
Ask it. That's what we're here for.
What Can You Do Here?
This isn’t Reddit. It’s a professional community.
Ask Questions
Stuck on a PR challenge? Ask the Community. You might be surprised how many other people have faced the same problem, or have a completely different way of approaching it.
Questions can be about PR tools, workflows, media outreach, measurement, AI, content, pitching, research, reporting or the everyday challenges that come with doing PR.
Get Real-World Advice
A vendor can tell you what a tool can do. Another PR professional can tell you what it is actually like to use. That’s valuable information.
Ask questions like:
- Has anyone used this tool?
- What are you using for media monitoring?
- What's a good alternative to this platform?
- Is it worth paying for?
- What works for a small client with a limited budget?
- Has anyone found a way to do this without buying another subscription?
- How are other PR teams handling this?
Sometimes the best answer comes from someone who’s already been where you are.
Share What You've Learned
The PR technology landscape changes constantly. You don't have to be a PR veteran to contribute.
If you've discovered a useful tool, figured out a better workflow, solved a problem or learned something the hard way, someone else may benefit from hearing about it. You might want to contribute to the blog if it's a lengthy discussion and promote it on the forum with the link.
Your experience could save another PR professional hours of research, or help them avoid an expensive mistake.
Connect With Other PR People
PR can be surprisingly solitary work.
The Community gives you a place to connect with people who understand what it's like to evaluate yet another piece of technology or figure out how to demonstrate the value of your work.
You may find an answer. You may discover a resource. You may meet someone who becomes a valuable professional connection. You might even meet a new client if you're a PR consultant!
The Community is where the conversation starts. You decide where it goes from there.
A Few Things the Community Isn't
The PRToolFinder Community isn't another place for endless sales pitches.
It's also not a replacement for a vendor's customer support team. If you're having a technical problem with a specific product, the vendor is usually the right place to get help.
We're interested in useful conversations and real-world experience. PRToolFinder is intentionally vendor-neutral, and we want the Community to reflect that same spirit.
Who Is the Community For?
- PR professionals who want to exchange ideas and learn from their peers.
- Agency teams looking for tools, workflows and practical solutions.
- Independent PR consultants who need to solve problems efficiently and often without a huge technology budget.
- In-house communicators evaluating tools and figuring out how to get more from their PR technology.
- Business owners and founders who handle some or all of their own PR.
- Students and newer PR professionals who want to learn from people who have been doing the work.
In other words:
If PR is part of your job, there’s a place for you here.
