This is a complete reimagination of the PRToolFinder concept, designed to make finding PR tools easier than ever. The new site builds on the existing PRToolFinder database and now includes a PR Consultant’s Directory and forum functionality.
Why Another PR Directory?
You might wonder, why create another PR directory when there are already so many out there? As a PR professional who has always offered helpful guidance and education to companies exploring a public relations program, I understood the need for more than just a directory. That’s why we’ve added a forum to the new site.
A Surprising Discovery
Over the years working on PRToolFinder, I was surprised to learn that business people also found the tools database useful. I always assumed that only PR professionals were using it. But when I realized that business people were searching for PR tools and might also need PR assistance, it became clear that our platform could offer even more.
Why Did It Take So Long?
It might seem logical in hindsight, but it took me eight years to figure this out. Two main reasons contributed to this delay:
- I was working as an independent PR consultant while developing the site in my spare time.
- I was too close to the project to see the broader potential.
Thinking Differently
In 2022, I hired a consultant from outside the PR industry to help me think differently about our goals. Her fresh perspective inspired the transformation of the website, including the addition of the PR Consultants Directory and forum functionality. A Team Effort
I am not a software developer, so I had help along the way! Many companies and consultants contributed to this project, making each iteration an adventure. Some have moved into niche markets where they are thriving, while others continue to assist with website development.
One person, in particular, has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life: Md Asifullah. I’ve worked with Asif for eight years, initially for graphic design and later for the reimagination of PRToolFinder. When I refer to “we” in discussions about PRToolFinder, Asif is who I’m talking about.
