Collage for open-source blogging technology

Made for love, not for profit, Ghost, is a non-profit, open-source blogging technology platform focused solely on professional publishing. Their mission is to create the best open source tools for independent journalists and writers across the world. The goal is to facilitate a a real impact on the future of online media. We’ve added Ghost to the PRToolFinder database under the blog creation category.

They also have a handy comparison guide on how Ghost compares with WordPress.  Ghost says as an open-source blogging technology they more cost effective than WordPress. Wait, I thought WordPress was free.  Yes, but not if you require specific plugins for various publishing needs.  This is apparently where Ghost really shines. Both WordPress & Ghost are  open source and flexible.  But the main difference, according to Ghost, is that Ghost is explicitly focused on doing one thing really well: Publishing.

In my quest to find out more about how WordPress and Ghost differ I came across a thoughtful comparison on CMSWire.  There are more blogging choices than just WordPress or Ghost and you’ll find them all in PRToolfinder’s Blog Creation Tools category.
