Our goal? To keep you informed, inspired, and ahead of the curve.
As we embark on this exciting journey, we’re starting out quarterly in our first year, with plans to ramp up to monthly editions by 2025 (and who knows, maybe even sooner!). Rest assured, each edition will be crafted to be brief, focused, and, above all, incredibly useful. But here’s the best part – we want YOU to be part of the conversation! Tool News:
- Notified and GlobeNewswire both have enhancements — Notified has a new mobile app for both iOS and Android, users can now seamlessly track and share relevant media mentions and receive notifications on their mobile device. This streamlines how teams can manage campaigns, real-time discussions, reputation, potential crises, etc., without having to depend on email notifications while on the go.
- Open AI introduced a new ChatGPT feature called GPT Mentions; which is presently in beta is only available to ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise users. It enables users to include the name of custom GPTs in a conversation query with the goal is to summoning custom GPTs to assist within the ChatGPT interface, eliminating the need to switch interfaces for each custom GPT. - CARMA announces acquisition of mmi Analytics, expanding expertise in Beauty, Fashion, and Lifestyle sectors.
- Google rebrands Bard, Duet AI as Gemini
- PR Industry Tool Vendor Onclusive struggles with recovering from Ransomware attack – how are you protecting your IP? (May be prompted to register a free account.) PR Week reported that Onclusive believes its platform will be fully up and running again week of 3/18/24 after sufffering a cyber attack in early February.
- Sprout Social Expands Reddit Partnership — will deliver deeper, real-time, public Reddit insights to customers
Hootsuite’s out with their new Social Media Consumer Report packed with fresh data that reveals what audiences love, hate, and merely tolerate from brands on social media.
PR Trends:
- This Forbes article lays out the top PR trends for 2024 including the expectation that the line between PR and marketing will continue to blur. (You may be asked to set up a free account.)
- ISPs tighten regulations on email permissions for Google and Yahoo emails. If you conduct email marketing and need to set up your email DMARC, DKIM, and SPF there’s a useful “how to” blog here

- Five new tools added to the Gen AI Category for AI tools that help you write
- Zencastr was added to the Podcast Recording category
- Three more stock photo resources were added to the Graphic Image Resources category (two of them royalty free!)
- BuzzSumo was added to the Media Monitoring, Content Marketing and Market Research categories
- Awards Category: There used to be a really useful service that listed all of the awards and speaking opps — I’m keep an eye on if they return with a reimagined offering, but in the meantime, I’m adding awards opportunities here. Now listed in the PRToolFinder database are:
o Inaugural Consumer AI Awards Recognizes Excellence and Innovation in Consumer AI Technology Worldwide (7 categories of awards)
o BI (Business Intelligence) Awards (10 categories of awards)
In the works:
We have a Podcast Recording Tools category and a category for podcast monitoring and search but no category for Podcast hosting providers. I recently read an exchange on the PRSA forum with someone asking for a recommendation in this area and this is what revealed the missing category. This is coming soon! If you have any podcast hosting providers you think should be included in this category or would like to write a guest blog, please shoot me a note!
